Who are we?
"The Vikings of Bjornstad" is a living history and educational group, concentrating on the Viking era, usually defined to be from 793 AD to 1066 AD. We offer stimulation, fun and a minimum of personality clashes and drama some volunteer groups struggle with.

What does membership cost?
Annual membership to the group is $20. We are associated with Vikings North America (VNA) and the fee goes entirely to that membership, providing our members with insurance coverage. We even reimburse Bjornstad members for mileage and bridge fare for most events.

What would a potential member need to know before joining?
Nothing! All we ask is that you are interested in the Viking Age and are willing to work toward making, trading or buying the clothing appropriate for the period.

What do you have to do to join?
It's easy. Send an e-mail to info@vikingsofbjornstad.com with some contact information and let us know you're interested. We'll ask you to join Vikings of North America for insurance purposes and we'll help with that. It can all be done electronically, by mail or by telephone and requires only a face photo (we can use just about anything you send) and the $20 for VNA membership/insurance.

What clothing and other gear do you need before joining?
None. We strive for authentic Viking Age clothing, crafts and gear, but we know that's a goal to work toward and we all have to start somewhere. We'll help you get started and the gear is FAR less expensive than other historic periods. We have occasional workshops to help each other out with everything from shoes to wooden chests.

Where do we meet?
Our events are usually in the extended San Francisco Bay Area. Currently Bjornstad members live north to Santa Rosa and Fort Bragg, east to Stockton and south to San Jose. Our calendar of events is always online and up-to-date. 

When do we meet? 
We meet about once a month. We decide as a group which events to attend and try not to schedule more than a couple a month. Our members attend those they can. The events are always shown on the calendar of events.

Is there an age limit?
We welcome everyone and ask only that those under 16 be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
