Description:
Bjornstad has been invited to provide a class on the Vikings as part of a course named Empires and Barbarians presented by Professor Costanza Dopfel at St. Mary's College.
The class runs from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. We'll deliver our PowerPoint presentation and lay out our weaponry and artifact exhibit. We'll have a group of 25 - 30 students. Weather permitting, we'll move outside for a portion of our presentation. The second half of our presentation will be devoted to hands-on student involvement as they move from one station to another. The stations will cover activities like trading, archery, coin stamping, sword/shield training and possibly more.
Professor Dopfel has asked us to focus on the day-to-day life of those in the Viking Age, recognizing that her class is primarily made up of college freshmen.
We'll meet at 8:30 AM at the rear of De La Salle Hall, where the seminar will be held, to unload our gear and get set up.
Due to the Covid-19 situation, the classroom windows may be open. Prepare to dress warmly. Bring a cloak/blanket.
