Description:
We have been invited to provide a little Viking history to the students at the Camellia Waldorf School in Sacramento.

We'll set up our display and talk about the artifacts. We'll focus on history and mythology during our visit. We will do a presentation of the Viking Art of War, but that will depend on the weather, as it can't be done safely indoors unless there is a lot of room available. Assuming we are outside after our presentation, we'll do a half hour of Hunkerhauser, the Viking Tug of War game and let the students try on helmets, chainmail and handle the shields (we will avoid access to offensive weapons for obvious reasons).

In the 4th grade at the Waldorf School, they use Norse Mythology as well as the Finnish Kalevala as their base for teaching Language Arts. Last year, they did a study of the history, culture, and people of Iceland. Ideally, we should touch on some of these subjects during our visit.

There is a large parking lot in front which tends to be fairly empty after 8:45am. The outdoor space is located in the back of the school. There is a small driveway which can be used, if we need to get closer with equipment, etc.
