Arrival: 9:30 AM
10:00 AM until 1:00 PM
Redwood Bowmen Archery Club
10900 Skyline Blvd.,
We are going onto the Field Archery range. Here's the invitation:
Here is the website for the archery site:
Go to the Chabot Space and Science Center; there are lots of signs for that from hwy 13. Park in the lower level of the Science Center's parking garage. The archery range is behind that. We are meeting at 10am at the practice range.
Douglas will be in garb, although most of the rangers will not. Bjornstad
should be in kit, since this is a very friendly place for that - and we'll
take pictures. It's a fun way to test your historical gear in a realistic setting.
You basically go in with what you bring with you. For safety reasons, there is no going backward along the trail. In other words, bring water, snacks, all your archery tackle. There are 14 targets along each of the range's three courses. After 14 targets, there is an option to return to the practice range and the parking lot etc - so if someone needs to leave early, they just march forward along the course until they can leave.
We will probably be doing just one of the three courses. You don't need to bring a ton of arrows. For a reasonable sized group, the archers can just shoot 2 or 3 arrows for each target.
